About Anna Thomas, Ph.D.
Dr. Anna Thomas works with patients and couples experiencing a range of difficulties including those who are struggling with anxiety, mood, stress, trauma and life transitions. She is also uniquely trained in health psychology. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals coping with a host of medical concerns including issues related to pregnancy and the postpartum period, infertility, menopause, cancer, GI issues, chronic pain and sexual concerns.
She has also worked extensively with caregivers and patients’ families as well as healthcare providers. She also holds a certificate in the specialty of Maternal Mental Health from Postpartum Support International and has received specialty training in sexuality and working with LGBTQ+ individuals.
Dr. Thomas is a Texas native and attended the University of Texas in Austin where she graduated with a dual degree in Plan II Honors and English. She received her Master’s Degree in New York City at Hunter College and worked at the CUNY's Center for HIV Educational Studies and Training (C.H.E.S.T.) and Fifth Avenue Psychiatry. She completed her psychology training in Dallas at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, with clinical and research training experiences at Moncrief Cancer Center and Parkland Hospital. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship on the Women's Psychology Service at Baylor University Medical Center in 2016.
She began her private practice work at Behavioral Health Dallas in 2017 where she also served as clinical training director before starting her own practice in 2024. She has contributed to the training and supervision of several psychology postdoctoral fellows and enjoys educating and collaborating with mental health providers and other medical providers. She enjoys public speaking to community and professional groups and organizations on a variety of relevant topics. Dr. Thomas is proud of her work as a consultant to Rosy, an all-inclusive women’s health app.
